AB3 - EVALUATION:

After completing the production of your magazine, you should summarise the process and assess your success in a written evaluation. The word limit is 800 words – significantly more or less will mean you drop marks. Some questions to help you evaluate your work are outlined below:

• What is a magazine? Start off by giving a definition.
• What is the name (and what are the connotations) of your magazine?
• Who will your magazine appeal to? Age, race, gender, occupation, social class, etc.
• Where can your magazine be bought / read? Don’t forget to justify why it would be sold in these places.
• A vicarious audience might read the magazine for free in places like waiting rooms / libraries / youth clubs. How will you make the magazine appeal to new readers (who might buy it from then on) such as these?
• Which company would publish your magazine and why? Research companies such as EMAP and Bauer (anyone who publishes a similar magazine to yours).
• What programmes did you use to create your magazine and what media skills did you develop?
• How did you appeal to your target audience on the cover?
• How are people usually represented in magazines such as yours? Did you reinforce these representations or subvert them?
• How did you choose to organise your contents page?
• Why did you choose to create the feature you wrote for your magazine?
• Did you follow a house style from an existing magazine or create your own layout? Why?
• What would you do differently next time?
• What have you learnt about the magazine industry as a whole? 

AB3 - Original pictures

For this section you need to take your own photographs and use them in your magazine.

However, if this task proves too difficult and you decide to use images from the internet (e.g. celebrities, cars. etc) you need to manipulate them in Photoshop to make them your own.

This example or development of front pages. 

For this part of your assignment you need to evidence that you have gone through a creative process of designing your front page. 

This evidence can be a as above or by providing 2 previous drafts of your final front cover.
